Bhinmal was earlier known as Shrimal Nagar as well as Bhillamal, which was an early capital of the kingdom of Gurjars. There are evidence found which indicates Lord Mahaveer Swami, the 24th Tirthankar has roamed in these places. This makes Bhinmal a very holy place for Jainism.
King Kumarpal, the King of Gurjar Kingdom had erected many temples but were destroyed by Alauddin Khilji.
There was a time when Bhinmal looked absolutely stunning with city pinnacled with many temples. It was a great learning centre in old times. Many books on Jainism were written here between 7th to 10th century.
1. Sundha Mataji Temple
Sundha Mataji temple is nearly 900 year old temple of mother goddess chamunda devi situated on a hilltop called Sundha, Arawali mountain range 20 Kms from the town of Bhinmal at 1220 metres of height. Sundha temple is made up of white marble, the pillars reminds of the art of Abu's Delwara Temple pillars. A very beautiful idol of goddess chamunda stands under the huge stone. Here chamunda's head is worshipped. It is said that the trunk of mother chamunda are established in korta and legs in sundarla Pal (jalore) .
The ropeway service is also their to climb sundha mountain, to make the journey easier for pilgrims, making it a memorable experience by carry you just above the waterfall. There is a wildlife sanctuary nearby covering an area of 107 sq. Kms.
Nearest Khodeswar Mahadev in Jawiya forest area also has wildlife and natural spots in the sanctuary solth bear, blue bull, jungle cat, desert fox, striped hyena, hanuman langoor, vulture, owl, Indian porcupine, rock and jungle bush, quil, spotted dove and 120 species of birds.
2. 72 Jinalay Temple
It is known as shri Laxmi Vallabh Parshwanath 72 Jinalaya. It is built almost 6 kilometres away from bhinmal city on Ramseen Road. It spreads over 80 acres of land. It's construction was started in 1982 and took around 19 years to complete. The temple spreads in the area of 4700 sq. Ft. And other 80 acres of area is covered with huge gardens and a big charitable complex for visitors or travellers.
3. Fort of Kot Kasta
This is the fort nearby bhinmal 12 km on Ramseen Road which is really old one. It was earlier composed of two separate villages named Kot and Kasta, this area has now become unified into the single village of Kot Kasta. During the rule of Mansingh, many yogis received Jagirs here.
The Nath Fort, a 200 years old fort can be found in the village of Kot Kasta. The fort has a three-storied palace rampart, tower and an entry gate. On both sides of the walls of the village are huge gates. The fort's main gate is a large wooden structure, which is now in ruins. The fort has been deserted for centuries and is now inhabited by bats. Government is not taking step to save it as heritage .
